Developer data collection
Shimai Map does not send your photos, object names, notes, or storage locations to the developer. It has no account registration, advertising, analytics SDK, or tracking.
On-device storage
Photos, storage hierarchies, object names, notes, photo marker coordinates and modification dates are saved on your iPhone. Camera and imported photos are resized for storage; original image metadata, including GPS metadata, is not retained. This app does not request your geographic location.
Camera and Photos
Camera permission is requested only when you choose Camera. You can instead use the system photo picker, which provides access only to images you select. Photos are used to record storage locations; they are not uploaded to an AI service or server.
Backups and external links
You may export a JSON backup containing photos and records to a destination you choose, including a cloud provider in Files or the share sheet. That provider's policy applies. Device data may also be included in Apple's device backups according to your settings. Opening support links uses your browser and may send normal web connection information to the website provider. Support emails contain only information you choose to send.
Control and deletion
Delete objects from their detail menu. Empty storage locations can then be deleted. Replacing a photo clears that location's markers but preserves its objects. Removing the app deletes its local data; exported files and device backups must be managed separately. Keep a backup before changing phones or deleting the app.
