Shiori Diary
Keep short thoughts or longer entries with photos, videos, voice, and places. Revisit your day through the calendar, map, and bookmarks.

Capture while writing
Choose Capture from the camera menu to open a square live preview while writing. Tap the shutter for a photo; hold it for a video with sound. Switch between front and rear cameras and enlarge or shrink the preview. Opening the preview alone does not capture anything. Settings lets you choose whether it opens at launch.
Multiple photos and videos up to one minute
Import photos and videos from your library too. Each video can be up to one minute long; trim longer videos in Photos or another app before selecting them. Choose video quality from ultra-low to high in Settings. Attachments appear in up to three columns. Tap to enlarge a photo or play a video within the entry.
Transcribe voice and video audio
Supported devices transcribe speech and video audio on-device. Choose whether a voice diary keeps its recording; captured videos include sound. Saving captured photos to the Photos app is an optional setting.
Add places and weather
Use your current location or search for a place to find entries later on a map. Save a place name only to keep text without searching. With automatic weather enabled, Apple Weather supplies conditions for the entry’s place or your permitted current location. Entries still save without weather if location or connectivity is unavailable.
Optional permissions
Text entries work without camera, microphone, or location access. Permissions are needed only for related features and can be changed in iPhone Settings. Past mood records remain, but new entries no longer offer mood selection.
Revisit and protect your writing
Use the daily book, calendar, text search, categories, media gallery, bookmarks, or map. Drafts save automatically. Deleted entries can be restored from Trash for 30 days. Optional app lock is available.
Free features and Shiori Plus
Writing, photos, videos, voice, places, calendar, maps, and search are free. The one-time Feature Pack adds reminders, media backup and restore, PDF export, and seven-day reflections. Monthly and annual plans also include writing prompts, twelve-month trends, and morning/evening reminders. Check current prices and trial eligibility in the purchase screen. Released version 1.3 has no ads.
Backup precautions
Automatic backup is opt-in, runs during app use, and is not continuous synchronization. Backup files are not encrypted or protected by app lock: choose a safe destination. Videos cannot play inside an exported PDF.
Restore or manage a purchase
Use Settings → Shiori Plus → Restore Purchases. Manage monthly or annual subscriptions in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Contact
Include your iOS version, iPhone model, and the steps that reproduce the issue. You do not need to share private diary content.
